Responsibilities:
- Answer staff inquires in person and via phone on all company supported applications;
- Troubleshoot computer problems;
- Determine source of computer problems (hardware, software, user access, etc.) and provide solution;
- Advise staff on appropriate action;
- Serve as liaison between staff and the technology department to resolve issues;
- Coordinate with system vendors and provide recommendations on company IT purchases;
- Assist next level engineer on IT infrastructure, server system and application projects;
- Document resolutions for future reference;
- Perform hardware and software installations;
- Provide IT training (phone, application etc.) to new staff members;
- Document IT asset inventory;
- Follow IT policies to ensure a secure environment.
Requirements:
- 1 – 3 years IT helpdesk support experience;
- Familiar with Windows 2003 server, IIS 6.0 MS Exchange 2003/MS Office Suite, Linux, VoIP PBX, Symantec backup software;
- Good command of English and Chinese;
- Willing to be on call for night shift roster;
- Friendly presence and helpful attitude; good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others;
- Good problem solving skills; ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it;
- Ability to handle constantly changing flow of traffic; remain productive during slow times, be able to multitask effectively during busy times, exercise patience and professionalism during stressful situations;
- Creativity. Ability to think around problems and come up with creative solutions is helpful;
- Ability to work responsibly with or without direct supervision.
